Nicola Hutchins is a charismatic and versatile musician. Having studied as a clarinet player at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Nicola forged her career as a reed player, playing the clarinet, saxophone and flute in shows and pop/jazz/funk bands at home and abroad, as well as playing in more classical settings.
She has worked with the likes of Sir Cliff Richard, John Williams and Stan Saltzman, performed with the British Rock Symphony Orchestra and toured the US with the Who’s Roger Daltry. Other commissions include playing with Lol Crème from 10CC, the National Theatre’s production of ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum,’ and a prolific range of engagements as a session musician in major recording studios in London. Nicola is equally happy giving classical recitals and orchestral parts on the clarinet as working alongside DJs as an improvising saxophonist.
