James is a British composer, musical director and pianist. He currently directs and composes for two musical artists - Hannah Williams and Wolfgang Valbrun; which collectively have amassed over 75 million streams. James’ work with Hannah Williams received worldwide recognition in 2016 after collaborating with Jay-Z on his 13th studio album ‘4:44’. In the same year, Wolfgang Valbrun’s collaboration with French art-pop producer Kungz, saw him reach chart topping success in 27 countries. Since then, James has toured internationally and extensively with these artists, performing at venues such as Blue Note Tokyo, Montreal Jazz Festival Main Stage, The Bristol Beacon Main Stage, and New York Central Park, sharing stages with the likes of David Byrne, Andersson Paak, Pete Rock, Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones. James’ musical roots in fact lie in the classical world, and he began composing for the piano from a very early age. Through the past 20 years he has written several albums for solo piano, and has composed many string arrangements and orchestral works. He has 10 years experience in the session world; most notably being the first pianist employed by the Portuguese-based music tech company Musiversal. He also works regularly with music production companies such as Hyph, Massive Music, Extreme Music, Sony BMG and Universal.
