The perfect quirky non musical act with a hint of romance, our Poetry Busker and his typewriter started out busking on the Southbank over a decade ago.

Since then, he has written commissions for birthdays and similar, assisted at handfastings with his poetry and appeared at a number of literary festivals as well as craft fairs and special events.

The heart of poetry busking is typing poems on the spot for customers according to their wishes, which can be a simple title or a more detailed explanation.
The busked poems are all written on the spot based on topics or information he is given. It usually takes about 5 minutes to type a poem like this (it can't be much longer when you have a queue!).

Our Poetry Busker's typewriter is a Remington Portable born on October 23rd, 1935.
